CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW MIXED-USE URBAN QUARTER WITH FOCUS ON HOUSING AND EDUCATION

Sustainable revitalization of Germering's city center

A forward-looking mixed-use urban quarter, which places focus on both environmental and social sustainability, is to be built at the heart of Germering, on the edge the city center, by 2024. This will involve breaking open a large part of the previously sealed area and converting it into space for living, working, education and recreation.

Sophisticated at all levels

In addition to a synergetic mix of residential, co-working by Interlink Space, education, gastronomy and space for the "Digital Education" foundation, the new building will be built to the highest sustainability standards. These include the greening of the façade and roof surfaces, the installation of solar panels on the roof and e-charging stations in the underground car park, as well as construction to KfW 55 standard. The green inner courtyard for restaurants and a communal roof garden with play facilities round off the green ensemble.

A new chapter for the city center

Before demolition work began, the property on Landsberger Straße was home to the furniture store Möbel Grollmus for over 70 years. The store moved to a new location in 2019, leaving an abandoned commercial building at the edge of the city center. To change this state of affairs, we allowed Germering's volunteer fire department to use the for practice purposes until the building was demolished.
